I don't know. my father always thinks that life is about living. that living is a task. you know, going through all the ups and downs. that it is worth something by itself already. our task is simply to live and experience (in an aware kind of state, perhaps). that's why he considers nothing to be in vain. even sufferings. because there is value in it.
